“Blood and Choice” (Book 2 of the Human Hybrids Gay Paranormal Series) is available from today. Liam and Tig are probably my favourite characters in the whole series so I really loved writing their romance. I’ve included flashbacks of how they became friends and started working together so the reader gets to see the whole evolution of their relationship. Liam goes through a lot of heartache and the whole relationship between the 2 characters comes close to breaking point. The wendigo threat is also getting more deadly in this novel, putting Liam and Tig in increasing danger, and building for the final massive battle that will take place in Book 3.
Don’t forget to get your free Kindle copy of “Coexistence” between now and 13 September then, if you enjoy it, you can download the free prequel, “A Destructive Power“, on the Books page, and get the companion novel, “Kye“, for free by signing up to my e-mail list!
“Blood and Choice“, the next book in the series, is available for pre-order at half-price until its release on 19 September.
You can read descriptions of all the books on my Books page above.
‘Liam watched, Tig standing next to him, as uniformed police officers exhumed dead bodies that the wendigo’s funeral home had been responsible for. It was cold, dark and gruesome and having spent two hours previously listening to Tig talking about Megan and using words like beautiful and incredible and I’m so happy, this was the highlight of his night.’ – “Blood and Choice”
“Blood and Choice“, the second novel in my gay paranormal Human Hybrids trilogy will go on sale at Amazon on 19 September 2016. To celebrate its launch, the Kindle e-book of “Coexistence” (Book 1 in the series) will be free at Amazon from 9 to 13 September. You can download it at Amazon US, Amazon UK or other Amazon stores.
Book description for “Blood and Choice“:-
Years ago Liam faced the destruction of his village in Ireland by wendigoes who murdered nearly everyone in his life. Now, working in Invercade HyCO and still tormented by the past, the only person he has left is his best friend, Tig. The two of them kill a wendigo who has been living and working in the city for years and begin to unravel a plot by the creatures that could be more dangerous than anything they have experienced so far.
When Tig starts dating someone else Liam realises he is in love with him and his jealousy causes their friendship to start falling apart. Liam thinks his life can’t get much worse but wendigoes always find a way to prove him wrong and before long both their lives are in mortal danger.
Here are some quotes from one of my favourite M/M paranormal novels.
‘I was late for my appointment with a dead man.’
‘Before Griffin had come along, I’d been living inside a photograph: just a facsimile of life, without either color or depth.’
“I will not surrender my profession simply because men throughout history have been unduly enamored of their penises!” – Dr Christine Putman
‘The Guardian raced across the hall toward us, running on all fours in a horrible, loping gait neither human nor animal. Its claws scrabbled for purchase on the slick marble tiles of the main hall, which was the only reason it hadn’t yet caught up with us.’
‘It was madness; it was folly; it was sheer selfishness. I was delusional, misguided, wrong, out of control. I needed to pull back, to say something sane, to re-establish mastery over myself. I could not do this. I could not take this risk.
‘Later tonight, I’d relive this moment in my lonely bed and wonder if I’d done the right thing. But at least that would be familiar, would be something I knew how to cope with.
‘And yet the very thought felt like dying.
I surged forward, crossing the final, tiny gap and pressing my lips to his.’
The shadows of the labyrinth-library seemed suddenly deeper. I hurriedly gathered up my things and left the room. The interconnected chambers and oddly-angled halls were lit only by moonlight streaming from the irregular shafts set into the ceiling. My footsteps echoed strangely, almost as if someone followed behind me. I quickened my pace, which only made it worse. By the time I reached the entrance to the library complex, my heart thumped hard enough to make me light-headed, and it was everything I could do not to break into a run. Glad beyond words to be quit of the place, I shut the door behind me, turned, and tripped over the body of the night watchman.’
‘A suffocating cloud of stench rolled out of the open trapdoor: wet fur, mildew, fish slime, and above all the putrescence of rotting flesh. A swarm of horrors boiled out behind it, ever one of them howling like damned souls vomited up from the bowels of Tartarus itself’.
‘Outside, the snow piled up against the windows, but our bed was warm and safe. Holding Griffin against me, I let myself slip away into sated sleep.’
I’m feeling happy and nervous as my first novel is now for sale here (Amazon.com) and here (Amazon.co.uk) at Amazon. I really hope readers will like it. A massive thank you to the Pen & I writing group for feedback and advice, to Karen and Jenny for hours of proofreading, to Kanaxa for the beautiful book cover and to my friends and family for all the support.
If there’s anything better than having a great book to lose yourself in, it’s having an entire series and the supernatural genre is one that I love. Here’s a review of my favourites with the important combination of complex, likeable characters, a compelling romance, an interesting supernatural world and a strong plot.
Jordan L Hawk has 3 wonderful paranormal series on the go at the moment with a fourth on the way. The Whyborne and Griffin books begin with Widdershins which introduces the reader to the main characters. Continue reading “Best M/M Supernatural Book Series”
