Gay M/M News for March 2018

Articles about M/M Books

Riptide Publishing is releasing a set of books called ‘classics queered’, where famous novels such as “Pride and Prejudice” and “The Prisoner of Zenda” are retold as gay books. There are some great authors, such as K J Charles, involved in this so it sounds intriguing. An article – including cover reveals and book descriptions – is here at USA Today.

New Gay Films

Love, Simon”, a film based on the wonderful novel “Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda” by Becky Albertalli, was released in the US in March and will be released in the UK in April. If it’s as good as the book I really look forward to seeing it.

The Best of Free M/M Books and Stories

Here are a few free novels and stories that I’ve found and enjoyed.

freebooksarticle-hunter-of-demons-spectr1Hunter of Demons (SPECTR Book 1)” by Jordan L Hawk is currently free at Amazon – this is a wonderful paranormal series so, if you haven’t already got this, I highly recommend it. It involves a romance between an exorcist, John Starkweather; a paranormal, Caleb; and Gray, the demon who inhabits Caleb.

freebooksarticle-nor-iron-bars-a-cageIf you check out Kaje Harper’s author page at Amazon, she has a number of free books, some full length novels and some short stories, in different genres. I read and really enjoyed her free fantasy novel, “Nor Iron Bars a Cage”, about a sorcerer coaxed out of his self-imposed prison by a man he once loved. The download royalties for this book help raise money for the Gay Men’s Domestic Violence Project.

freebooksarticle-something-sweetMegan Derr has a couple of wonderful free short M/M fairytale stories at Amazon – “The Stableboy” and “Blood in the Water” (based on “The Little Mermaid”) – as well as a couple of contemporary stories – “Something Sweet” and “Delivery with a Smile”. The proceeds for the downloads go towards a scholarship foundation for LGBT students.

freebooksarticle-the-foxhole-courtThe Foxhole Court (All For the Game Book 1)” by Nora Sakavic isn’t my usual kind of genre, being about a teenager who’s on the run because of his crime lord father and joins a sports team. (I should probably also mention that the romance doesn’t develop until book 3.) However, I loved the whole series so I really recommend trying the free first novel. US link   UK link

Must-Read M/M Authors

Fantasy, Supernatural and Historical Genres

My favourite authors have interesting complex characters, fast-paced exciting plots, a detailed background world – particularly important in fantasy or supernatural novels – and a strong romance.  They write books that I re-read again and again.

Luck in the Shadows coverLynn Flewelling’s Nightrunner series is one of my all-time favourites.  Alec and Seregil are lovable characters who grow and change over the novels.  Their romance is slow-burn over the first couple of novels but that Continue reading “Must-Read M/M Authors”
